All India Council For Technical Education: AICTE is a statutory body of Government of India under HRD ministry. AICTE is responsible for setting standards in technical higher education in India.

AICTE is seated at New Delhi with Regional Offices in 4 regions. All technical courses like MBA, MCA etc are to be approved by AICTE even if a College is affiliated by a local University. Unless AICTE approves these technical courses, they are declared in valid.
